POSITION TITLE: Service Manager/Director

DEPARTMENT: Service

REPORTS To: General Manager

PURPOSE:

The Service Director is responsible for running an efficient and profitable Service Dept. as well as overseeing the Parts Dept. She/he will operate the dept. at maximum production, controlling costs, building a loyal clientèle, maintaining good employee relationships, setting & obtaining sales & profit objectives,& maintaining service records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Forecast goals & objectives for the department & strive to meet them

  • Strive for harmony & teamwork with all other depts.

  • Prepare & administer an annual operating budget for the Service Dept.

  • Attend manager’s meetings.

  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with, federal, state and local regulations that affect service & parts operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, etc.

  • Hire; train, motivate, counsel, and monitor ·the performance of all Service & Parts Department staffs.

  • Provide technical assistance to employees as needed.

  • Conduct meetings with dept. employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest.

  • Monitor Service & Parts payroll records.

  • Establish & maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat referral business.

  • Serve as liaison with factory representatives.

  • Greet all customers promptly and give fair estimates on costs and ,time required for repairs & maintenance.

  • Handle all customer complaints.
